Absurd Marvel’s Spider-Man Mod Adds Galactus To The Game

An absurd new mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC adds a large Galactus into the game, based on his appearance in Fortnite.

An absurd new mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered adds the legendary Galactus to the game. Mods have been dominating the Spider-Man scene since the release of the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered back in August, and this new one allows for players to replace one of the models in the game with the popular Marvel villain Galactus. The model for this mod is also based on the Fortnite version of Galactus that was added to that game in 2020 as part of a massive, record-breaking event for Fortnite.

There have been a lot of mods released for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered at this point, some really strange ones even, like being able to play as Kermit the Frog in the game. The desire for mods allows players to experience some of their favorite games in completely new ways, and one featuring Galactus might be a bit absurd given his traditional portrayal of being massive in size. The mod by itself replaces one of the dozens of suits in the game, making the game play the same as normally, just with Galactus shooting webs and web-swinging across New York City instead of Spider-Man.

The mod was originally uploaded to Nexusmods by a user named Princec23, but it found more traction in a Reddit post made by a user named jjarrack in which a screenshot of a large Galactus is shown to be towering over enemies and buildings. The original mod does not make Galactus gigantic. Instead, this user used a different mod called the Player Scale Mod in order to make this portrayal of Galactus more akin to his normal appearances in games and other media. The modding community is getting more creative with its mods for the game with this combination. Another mod transforms all of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered into a first-person game.

The original mod itself replaces the Advanced Suit, an original creation for Marvel’s Spider-Man, with the Galactus skin. The Player Scale Mod allows users to adjust the size of every suit and most playable characters, according to that mod’s creator GamXpert1 on Nexusmods. Putting the Galactus mod into the game and then scaling it up with this other mod allows for players to play as a gigantic Galactus. Players can also just play as a Spider-Man-sized Galactus if the Player Scale Mod is not used, similar to using other mods, like the mod to play as Daredevil in the game.

It seems like the creativity for mods in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is almost endless. With Galactus, Daredevil, and Black Panther being added to the game via mods, the game is becoming a concrete playground for Marvel icons. Hopefully, mods and PC versions of PlayStation games are here to stay to provide seemingly endless entertainment for players.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is available for PC and PS5.
